Introduction

Introdução

Prepositional contractions are when certain prepositions combine with other words usually for the purposes of maintaining a flowing sound to the language.

In this lesson you will learn how the words a (to; at), por (for; by), and para (to; for) combine with the definite articles o, a, os and as (the).

While the contractions with a and por can be used in formal writing, the contractions with para are considered informal and typically frowned up in formal use.
