Introduction

Introducción

Prepositions in Spanish function nearly the same as in English. They form phrases to describes actions, such en la casa (in the house).

The tricky aspect of Spanish prepositions is remembering which preposition to use in a given context. Spanish prepositions don't always translate one-to-one with English prepositions.

Also, Spanish prepositions never come at the end of a sentence, like the might in English. For example, "She is coming in" does not translate to Ella está viniendo adentro. Rather, you would say Ella está entrando or simply Ella entra.

Check out the Idiomatic Prepositional Phrases lesson for more information on Spanish prepositions.
